Major General PKWWMJSBW Pallekubura RWP RSP ndu psc of Gajaba Regimant assumed office as the new General Officer Commanding, 12 Infantry Division on 16 July2024 amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the 12 Infantry Division Headquarters in Hambantota.
The day’s proceedings commenced with a Guard Turnout, presented to the new GOC at the main entrance on his arrival. Subsequently, he was invited to review the Guard of Honour presented by 12 Gajaba Infantry Regiment.
Afterwards, the newly-appointed GOC left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ by members of the Maha Sangha. The occasion was marked by the planting of a sapling in the 12 Infantry Division Headquarters premises.
Thereafter, newly appointed GOC addressed the troops before he attended a formal All Rank Tea. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the events.
