A consignment of 23,000 kg of organic fertilizer produced in the 12 Infantry division premises was delivered to the Lakpohora Company Limited on Monday 04 April 2022.
To be in line with instructions given by the Green Agriculture Operation Centre, headed by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, all island-wide Army installations with space available took an initiative in producing organic fertilizer that could be used for the Yala season.
Stock of 23,000 KG was was officialy handed over Marketing Manager – Southern Province of Lanka fertilizer (Lakpohora) Ltd in Hambantota, Mr DM Anuruddha Preethi Ruwan by the General Officer Commanding 12 Infantry Division, Brigadier Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc , during a brief ceramony held at the 12 Inf Division Headquarters in Hambantota. The production, made possible by Officers and ORs of 12 Infantry Division, Agrarian Officials, Fertilizer Secretariat Officials and Lakpohora representatives attended the event.
