In parallel with the National War Heroes’ Memorial Day, Central Province was also celebrated the National War Heroes’ day on 19 May 2020 at the War Heroes Memorial in Mailapitiya with the participation of the Governor of Central Province, Mr Lalith U Gamage. The family members of the fallen war heroes also took part in the commemoration ceremony to pay the floral tribute.
The Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP also graced the occasion along with the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Major General W G M A S Bandara RWP RSP and other senior officers. Further, the Officers representing the Sri Lanka Police as well as the State Workers of the Central Province also participated in this event to pay tribute.
