A Ranaviru (War Heroes) commemoration ceremony took place at the War Heroes’ monument in Badulla to be in line with National War Heroes’ commemoration on 13 May 2016 where Uva Provincial Governor Hon. M. P Jayasinghe attended as the Chief Guest.
Representing the Security Force Headquarters (Central), Brigadier KMDAA de Silva USP, the Brigadier General Staff attended the programme and government officials, members of tri forces and Police attended the event. A brief religious ceremony transferred merits on fallen War Heroes. Afterward all those present lined up to place floral wreaths at the memorial after the religious segment.
