The wildfire occurred on 31 May 2019 around 1400 hours in front of the Railway Station of Diyatalawa was extinguished by the troops on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu. The affected area is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central).
A team consisting of one officer and twenty one soldiers from the Headquarters of Security Forces (Central) reached the place immediately to douse the fire.
