TROOPS PROVIDE PURE WATER FOR DESERVING CHILDREN

Troops belong to 20th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment were able to fulfill a long-felt pure water requirement of the residents in Gonaganara, Monaragala District. Accordingly, a pure water supply project was originated by the Commanding Officer and Troops of 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment upon the guidance of Commander Security Force (Central), in which they were backed by several well-wishers to install a Water Purification System.

The community oriented project was specially sponsored by the Judge Advocate General of Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier RDD Pathirana and other donors. Troops were supported by the residents in construction work to install the purification system at the premises of Mo/Gonaganara Kanishta Vidyalaya. The essential facility was unveiled by the Commander Security Force (Central), Major General Mohan Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu during the formal function organized at Mo/Gonaganara Kanishta Vidyalaya on 09 April 2023.

At the same occasion, troops distributed a number of 310 stationery packs and school shoe pairs for the students. The needy residents in the area who witnessed the program were provided lunch packets and distributed tree saplings.

General Officer Commanding 12 Infantry Division, Commander 121 Infantry Brigade, Donors, Officers and Troops participated in the program.
