The pilgrimage season of Sri Pada was commenced on Unduwap Full Moon Poya Day. The pilgrims from various areas visit the most sacred temple and the Nallathanniya road is polluted with the litter they have dropped. Therefore, aiming to clean the area and to recycle the garbage ‘Manusath Derana’ community project has launched a sharamadana campaign and the troops under command to Security Forces (Central) joined hands to make it success on 07 March 2020.
Under the instructions of the Commander of the Army and the supervision of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP USP VSV ndu, more than 300 officers as well as soldiers from under command Divisions, Brigades, Units and Training Schools of SF (Central) participated in this cleaning programme in order to arrange the surrounding more eye catching for the devotees as well as the foreigners.
