Under the guidance of Major General P.K.W.W.M.J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, the General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division, troops organised a significant tree planting programme in conjunction with the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army on 26 August 2024
Concurrent with this main event, Brigades and Battalions of the 12 Infantry Division conducted their own tree planting activities at their respective camp premises. The campaign spanned Army lands, government schools, forest reserves, and tank catchment areas. Various saplings, including Tamarind, Bulu, Burutha, Mee, Ehala, Madham, Kohomba, Na, Thelambu, Teak, Ethdemata, Palu, and wood apple, were planted across multiple sites. A total of 5,000 saplings were planted during the day.
