The upcountry train operations along the passage from Haputale to Diyatalawa was barricaded due to a earth slip near Diyatalawa Station during the eraly morning hours on 1 December 2023.
Despite the pouring showers, troops of Security Force Headquarters Central, rushed to the disaster scene in no time, and assisted the railway workers to clear the railway track after an enduring operation. The extreme efforts of the troops and civilians, restored the train operations into normalcy.
