An awareness programme, poised to impart knowledge on new innovations and highlight the importance of encouraging innovative creations and research took place at the Security Force Headquarters (Central) on 03 November 2016 on the guidelines of Major General PUS Vithanage RSP ndu, Commander, Security Forces (Central) at the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS), Diyatalawa.
The programme was conducted by Brigadier DR Dharmasiri USP, Deputy Commandant, Research, Analysis and Development section and several veteran lecturers on the subject. The aim of this programme was to enrich the knowledge of officers and other rankers on different aspects, related to creative thinking, space for better prospects, and new security concerns, and future challenges.
Resource personnel, Mr A. H Priyasiri, Deputy Director General, Sri Lanka National Engineering and Development and Mr Harsha Kulathunga, Intelligence Officer of Sri Lanka National Intelligence Bureau educated the officers on above-mentioned aspects during lecture sessions.
Over 70 Army personnel including Brigadier N K Wadugodapitiya RSP psc, Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier IOW Madola, Brigadier Admin and Quartering of SF HQ (Central) and several senior officers took part in the programme.
