SF HQ (CEN) LAUNCHES A TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGN TO COINCIDE WITH NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT WEEK

To coincide with the National Environment Week that went in parallel with the World Environment Day as declared by HE the President, Security Force Headquarters (Central) on the directions of Major General A P de Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc Commander Security Forces (Central), launched a tree planting campaign on 03 June 2016 at the Officers' Mess Complex of SF HQ (Central) and Army Farm in Kaluambathenna - Diyatalawa.

Brigadier CS Atipola USP Lsc, the Project Officer, Brigadier IOW Madola, Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Colonel WG Dias Colonel General Staff of SF HQ (Central) attended the tree planting campaign. Several other senior officers, officers and other ranks also participated in the programme.

As the first phase of the programme, a lecture was conducted on the theme "Stop Environmental Pollution for a Healthy Life" by Mr. Thusitha Dissanayake, the Assistant Director of Central Environmental Authority - Uva Provincial Office in Badulla on 02 June 2016 at the Conference Hall of SF HQ (Central).
