The Sri Pada is the most sacred pilgrim site of the Buddhists and the pilgrim season which was commenced with the dawn of Unduwap Full Moon Poya Day culminated at an auspicious time on Vesak Full Moon Poya Day. With that, the casket of relics, the Statue of God Saman and other sacred jewelry were taken in a procession to the Nallathanniya temple from the Uda Maluwa of Sri Pada. For that, the assistance of military personnel was provided by three Officers and forty five Other Ranks of 19 Sri Lanka National Guards. Further, the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP along with the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Brigade Commander of 112, Senior Officers participated in this sacred event.
