Newly appointed 17th General Officer Commanding of 12 Infantry Division Major General PKWWMJSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc made his first official visit to 122 Infantry Brigade at Weeravila and Battalion Headquarters of 12 Gajaba Regiment and 3 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard on 23 July 2024.
The GOC was welcomed by the Commander, 122 Infantry Brigade along with Commanding Officers on the arrival and briefed the GOC about the responsibilities, roles and tasks of respective brigades and battalions.
Afterwards, the GOC addressed the troops and appreciated the duties carried out during the Paada Yathra and Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Devalaya Esala Perahera. Further GOC highlighted importance of the Army’s contribution for the national security. Finally GOC stressed the raising awareness about illegal activities as well as maintaining a high level of discipline among officers and other ranks.
