Brigadier MHSP Senarathne RSP, Commander of the 122 Infantry Brigade, formally relinquished his duties on 2 January 2026 during an official military ceremony held at the Army Camp, Weeravila.
The ceremony commenced with a ceremonial guard turnout presented by troops of the 3rd Battalion, Sri Lanka National Guard, which is under the command of the 122 Infantry Brigade. Following this initial formality, the outgoing Commander addressed the troops of the 122 Infantry Brigade and its subordinate battalions.
Subsequently, the Civil Affairs Officer of the 122 Infantry Brigade, together with the Commanding Officer (Overlooking) of the 12 Battalion Gajaba Regiment and the Second-in-Command of the 3 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard, presented mementoes to Brigadier MHSP Senarathne RSP in recognition of his dedicated and distinguished service to the 122 Infantry Brigade.
The event concluded with an official all-ranks tea hosted in honour of the outgoing Commander, marking the close of a dignified and respectful farewell ceremony..
