COMMANDER VISIT TO THE HEADQUARTERS 12 DIVISION

Major General Ruwan Silva Commander, Security Forces - Central upon his assumption of office mede his inaugural visit to the Headquarters 12 Division and its under command formations on11 and 12 Dec 2018.

On arrival at 12 Division HQ at Hambathota, Commander SF - Cen was received by the General Office Commanding 12 Division, Maj Gen Nishantha Wanniarchchi before the visiting Commander was greeted by a Guard Turnout at the main entrance.

Afterwards, he was awarded a Guard of Honors by 18 Gemunu Watch in conformity with military traditions. As a symbol of memory, the Commander, SF - Cen then invited to plant a sapling in front of the Division Headquarters. As a formality, the GOC 12 Div gives away a brief presentation on operational and administrative aspects of the Div to the SF Commander.

Addressing the troops, General Ruwan Silva focused on the importance of awareness of troops regarding the current situation of the country's security and maintenance of the highest standards of discipline at all times.

During the occasion of all rank tea, the Commander, SF - Cen took time off to mingle with the Offrs and ORs and inquired into their needs and other welfare measures and left a complimentary remark in the visitors book.

Afterwards, major General Ruwan Silva visited 122 Brigade Headquarters at Weerawila. Colonel Mohan Rathnayaka, Brigade commander presented a brief outline on the operational and admin aspect of the Bde. Later SF Commander visited under command Bns of 122 Brigade 3 SLNG and 23 GR respectively.

During morning hours of 12 Dec 2018, Commander SF - Cen visited Ruhunu Magampura International Conventional Center at Hambanthota. Afterwards we visited Hambanthota Harbor and3 SLNG detachment at Vitharandeniya. In the afternoon SF commander visited Sooriyawewa International Cricket Stadium and the Mattala Airport with thet, Comd SF Central, Completed the visit to 12 Div and 122 Bde and returned Diyathalawa in the evening.
