His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapakse visited Haldummulla Divisional Secretariat area in the Badulla District in order to identify the concerns as well as immediate solutions for them. Further, the President instructed to develop this remote village sooner. As the first stage, the Army has been instructed to construct a new building at Kumarathenne Vidyalaya. Consequently, on 04 October 2020 the foundation stone was laid for the new building by the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP at the Kumarathenna Vidyalaya premises.
Further, the Commander SF (Cen) observed the reconstructions of a house which was totally damaged due to an elephant attack as well as the constructions of the new playground of the village. The President of the Haldummulla Pradeshiya Saba, military personnel as well as the villagers also participated in this occasion.
