Major General H P N K Jayapathirane RSP, Commander Security Forces (Central) made his first field visit to 8 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) and 2(V) Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) on 26 November 2020 after assuming the office as the Commander Security Forces (Central). On the same day the supply squadron of 8 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps as well as the workshop of 2(V) Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers were also visited by the Commander.
The visiting Commander was warmly welcomed by Major D L R Edirisinghe, Commanding Officer of 2 (V) SLEME and Major P H S Karunarathne psc Lsc, the Second in Command of 8SLASC as well as briefed on their role and tasks as affiliated Battalions to SFHQ (Cen).
