Major General GMN Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, the 20th commander of security forces (central) relinquished his duties on 06 October 2024. Security forces (central) awarded big salute on his prior to retirement at the end of 35 years of active service, Keeping up with customary military traditions was taken place at the premises of headquarters security forces (central) at Diyatalawa

The outgoing ceremony was coloured grandly with a guard turnout and guard of honour accorded by troops of 23 VIR. Subsequently he participated in a group photograph, then outgoing commander placed his signature in a formal document to symbolize the relinquishment of his office. Then he was attended for a formal All Rank Tea at the NCO’s Club, the commander paying his sincere gratitude for great support given all officers and soldiers during his tenure and requested the same to be extended to the incoming commander. Finally, the outgoing commander wishes by all officers and Other Ranks standing with great honour either sides of road while on his departure from the Headquarters premises
