THE COMMANDER OF THE ARMY CALLED A SPECIAL CONFERENCE

A special conference was chaired by the Commander of the Army in order to discuss the possible actions that can be taken to control the irrupted unrest situation in the Kandy District on 08 March 2018. The Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias USP ndc psc IG, who is also the Group Operations Commander for Kandy District and the Deputy Group Operations Commander for Kandy District, Major General A W M A W N Ranawana RWP RSP ndc psc, also took part in this conference.

Further, the religious leaders and other responsible civil leaders of the area also participated in the conference where discussions were taken place on the measures that can be implemented to control this communal tension without hindering the reconciliation and the National Security.
