The fire erupted at the Gemigedara restaurant in Bandarawela was doused by the troops of Security Forces (Central) on the Direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central) Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP on 23 September 2020. A team consisted of one Officer and seventeen Other Ranks rushed to the place and doused it completely in conjunction with the officials of the Fire Brigade at Bandarawela.
