Troops of Security Force Headquarters (Central) bid farewell to their Commander, Major General Mohan Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu at the farewell parade took place at headquarters premises on 29 June 2023.
The farewell parade that followed on with militart customs, accorded a guard turnout and guard of honour for the outgoing senior officer. After the groop photograph, the outgoing commander participated in the all ranks tea party and interacted with all officers and other ranks serving under Security Force (Central). Later, he addressed troops to make the farewell note and express gratitude.
The outgoing senior officer who has a yeoman service of 35 years in active service made heroic contribution towards the eradication of ruthless terrorism from motherland. His exceptional leadership and commitment paved him the way forward and elevated his career to succeed in the Sri Lanka Army.
General Officers Commanding, Senior Staff Officers, Brigade Commanders, Battalion Commanders, Officers and Troops joined in the farewell formalities to extend warm wishes for the outgoing Security Force Commander who will retire from the active military service.
