Sri Lanka Army repaeting its annual practice offered free dried coconuts (Copra), for the illumination of the Dalada Perahera at Kandy.
The army processed stock of copra (20 tons) was handed over to the Diyawadana Nilame (Chieftain) of Sri Dalada Maligawa, by Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu on 11 August 2023.
After the occasion at Sri Dalada Maligawa, Commander of the Army made an inspection visit to the newly erected Army Base Hospital at Pallekele, Kandy. Commander Security Force (Central) Major General WWHRRVMNDKB Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc and many senior officers accompanied the army chief during his visit to Kandy.
