On 04 February 2025, the troops of 12 Infantry Division marked the 77th National Independence Day with the participation of Officers, Other Ranks and civil staff.
The National Flag hoisted by General Officer Commanding of 12 Infantry Division Major General W S N Hemarathna RWP RSP psc, as the Chief Guest, along with Deputy General Officer Commanding and recital the National Anthem.
A two – minute silence was observed in memory of those who paid utmost sacrifice for mother land. Subsequently, Independence Day message of the Commander of the Army was conveyed to the troops at the event. All troops were facilitated to witness the live telecast of the Independence Day ceremony. Finally, giving a prominence to the special day, 200 fruit saplings planted in 12 Infantry Division Headquarters premises with the participation of Officers, Other Ranks and civil staff.
