“The Environment is Worshipful” (Parisaraya Pujaniyai) is an annual programme which is launched to protect the environment by the Central Provincial Council and this year also the said programe was launched in collaboration with the military personnel of Security Forces (Central). In accordance with the directions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias USP ndc psc IG and the supervision of the Brigade Commander of 112 Brigade, Brigadier M D B A A Wijesuriya RWP RSP troops of 19 Sri Lanka National Guards (19 SLNG) have assisted this event.
Accordingly, 03 officers and 50 soldiers along with the Commanding Officer of 19 SLNG assisted this eco friendly programe which was launched from the peak of the Sri Pada to Nallathanniya on 23 April 2018. Further, the representatives of Police, Civil Defence Force as well as the Central Provincial Council actively participated in this programme.
