In parallel to ongoing island-wide National Dengue epidemic Prevention Campaigns, with the request of District Health Service Director - Hambantota, troops serving under the 12 Infantry Division of the Security Forces (Cen) were participated for Dengue Prevention programme from 22 to 23 January 2025 covering 897 houses of West and East GN Divisions in Hambantota MOH area.
During this programme, houses, government and private institutes, religious places, schools and also other public places were inspected. In the meantime, people who are living afore said areas have also been educated on the rapid spread of the dengue epidemic and its effect.
Around 35 Army personnel from 12 Infantry Division, together with the police, several medical officers and public health inspectors from the respective areas were participated for this programme.
