On the request of hospital authorities, troops of the 11 Infantry Division of Security Force (Central) supported the smooth conduct of emergency services in order to maintain essential skeletal health services at Peradeniya Teaching Hospital, Kandy Hospital and Nuwara Eliya District Hospitalල on Monday 9 January 2023 after a lightening strike of minor employees affected those hospitals.
2 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 3 (V) Sinha Regiment troops of 111 and 112 Infantry Brigades provided their manpower to provide basic needs at those hospitals in close collaboration with respective hospital authorities.
The General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division and Brigade Commanders of 111 and 112 Infantry Brigades closely supervised the troops in coordination with their Commanding Officers in respective battalions.
