2 MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT INAGURATES A NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOUSE

According to the concept of the Major General WMSCK Wanasinghe RSP USP, Commander 21 Infantry Division and Colonel of the Regiment of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment, with the guidance of Brigadier AK Peiris RSP, the Centre Commandant of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment and with the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel PVRP Kumara RSP USP psc, the Commanding Officer of the 2 Mechanized Infantry Regiment, a house construction project has been initiated for S/830579 Lance Corporal Kulasinghe KAAL, with financial and labour support provided by the 2 Mechanized Infantry Regiment.

It was ceremonially declared open on 02 February 2025 with the participation of Major General WMSCK Wanasinghe RSP USP, Commander 21 Infantry Division and Colonel of the Regiment of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Mrs Nilanthi Wanasinghe, the Chairperson of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, Brigadier HAANC Prabath RSP USP, Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade and Senior Officers & Officers of Mechanized Infantry Regiment.

In addition, Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch donated Rs 10,000.00 worth of electric item during the opening ceremony.

This initiative aims to enhance the welfare of the soldier and his family, reflecting the regiment’s commitment to supporting its personnel.
