MIR BIDS FAREWELL TO THE OUTGOING COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT

The Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) bade farewell to Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B. Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander of the Security Forces (Jaffna) and Colonel of the Regiment of MIR, on 25 September 2024, at the Regimental Centre, Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Dambuluhalmillawewa

Upon his arrival, the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment was welcomed by Brigadier A.K. Peiris RSP, the Centre Commandant of MIR, along with Regimental Council Members

The formal military farewell ceremony commenced with a Guard Turnout. He then paid tribute to the fallen War Heroes at the war heroes monument, followed by a Guard of Honour presented at the parade square

Subsequently, the official handing over took place, followed by a troops address. At the culmination of the event, a traditional salute was offered by all Officers and Other Ranks in a straight line to appreciate the dedicated service rendered by the Colonel of the Regiment
