MIR - SVB CONDUCTED A DONATION PROGRAMMER

The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR -SVB) conducted the Scholarship program for 52 schoolchildren (Rs.16000.00 worth per child) whose parents are serving as sldrs and civ servants of the MIR on 29 December 2023 at the RHQ MIR.

Mrs. Priyanga Wickramasinghe, the President, MIR - SVB, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with Maj Gen M G W W W M C B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Director General General Staff and the Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry regiment.

Further, the Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry regiment coordinated an electric wheelchair worth approximately Rs. 2 million sponsored by the Chief Incumbent Priest of the New York Buddhist Vihara, Most Ven Aluthgama Dhammajothi Thero, which was donated to S/827678 S/Sgt Ekanayake E A G who was severely injured while he was performing the duties in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) in Mali.

MIR - SVB members, Council Members, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and civil servants participated in the donation event.
