FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT TO THE MECHANIZED INFANTRY TRAINING CENTRE AND 2ND MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT

After assuming duties as the 16th Colonel of the Regiment of MIR, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc MA (IR), Director General General Staff (DGGS) of the Sri Lanka Army, marked the first official visit to the, 2nd Mechanized Infantry Regiment and Mechanized Infantry Training Centre on 27 August 2023 respectively.

The Commandant Mechanized Infantry Training Centre Colonel H A A N C Prabath RSP USP and Officiating Commanding Officer of 2nd Mechanized Infantry Regiment Maj P V R P Kumara RSP USP have warmly welcomed him during his visit. As the newly appointed Colonel of the Regiment he addressed the troops of Mechanized Infantry Training Centre, and 2nd Mechanized Infantry Regiment and inquired into their administrative matters. He was invited to leave memories by planting a sapling at the Battalion Headquarters.

The Centre Commandant of Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre - Brigadier A M A Abeyasinghe RWP RSP USP psc and Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier J M A Jayasekara RSP USP along with other Staff Officers of Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre were accompanied with Colonel of the Regiment.
