FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE 3RD BATTALION MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT BY THE NEWLY APPOINTED COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT

After assuming the duties as the 16th Colonel of the Regiment of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Director General General Staff Major General M G W W W M C B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc marked the first official visit to the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Regiment on 24 August 2023.

The Centre Commandant Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre Brigadier A M A Abeysinghe RWP RSP USP psc and Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade Brigadier J M A Jayasekara RSP USP, along with other Staff Officers accompanied the Colonel of the Regiment.

With all military formalities Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by Commanding Officer of 3rd Mechanized Infantry Regiment Major HMJP Heenkenda USP psc and all Ranks of the battalion.

During the visit Colonel of the Regiment addressed the troops of 3rd Mechanized Infantry Regiment and emphasised the significance of a Mechanized Infantry soldier and how he should be groomed and develop his skills and and thoughts as a professional soldier with the view to meet the upcoming requirements and face for both contemporary and imminent threats. Further Colonel of the Regiment enlighten and broaden the horizon of all officers with his expertise views and 34 years of military experience on military professionalism.The event was flown remaining rememberable and indelible memories to the battalion.
