ASSUMING DUTIES OF CO 1 MIR

Lieutenant Colonel DGJBP Dembatagahawatta USP psc assumed duties as the 9th Commanding Officer of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Regiment on 07th March 2023 followed by a formal military ceremony. The military formalities commenced soon after the Guard Turnout at the entrance and the newly appointed Commanding Officer was subsequently accorded with a ceremonial parade presented by the troops of 1MIR. The senior officer formally took over duties amidst the blessings of the Triple Gem and the event culminated followed by a troop address and all ranks tea.
