Farewell Ceremony for retiring Major General S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP, Mechanized Infantry Regiment was held on 05 and 06 December 2022 at the Regimental Centre, Mechanized Infantry Regiment.
The retiring Major General S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP Mechanized Infantry Regiment was received by Brigadier B P G K Balasooriya RSP psc - Commander, Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier A M A Abeyasinghe RWP RSP USP psc - Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment.
The formal military ceremony was commenced soon after the Guard Turnout at the entrance. After that, he paid tribute to the fallen war heroes at the monument followed by attended the ceremonial parade, all ranks tea party and formal dinner night at the Officers' Mess - Dehippawa.
Following day he was offered with salute by all Officers and Other Ranks in a street line to appreciate the dedicated service rendered to the Mechanized Infantry Regiment as the third ever produced Major General in the Mechanized Infantry Regiment.
