The newly constructed Regimental Farm and Holiday Bungalows in Ketakala were vested in the Mechanized Infantry family by Colonel of the Regiment, Major General Priyanka Fernando RWP USP on 04 December 2021 at the invitation of Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment Brigadier Kumara Wanasinghe RSP USP.
This long felt requirement for members of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment consists of separate luxury rooms with all modern furniture and facilities for Officers and Other Ranks. Further, welfare complex and newly cultivated farmland were also vested. The entire construction was completed by technically qualified own Mechanized Infantry troops and utilizing minimum regimental funds with the close supervision of Centre Commandant.
The Colonel of the Regiment on arrival was warmly welcomed by Centre Commandant and a representative gathering of Regimental Council Members.
Unveiling of a plaque that speaks of the saga connected to its event. The Colonel of the Regiment and Senior Officers afterwards had a close look inside the new site and saw the surroundings around.
