The 14th Anniversary Day Celebration of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment was held on 13 February 2021 at the Mechanized Infantry Regiment in Dambuluhalmillawewa.
Major General S S Waduge RWP RSP USP ndu psc - Colonel of the Regiment, Mechanized Infantry Regiment was warmly welcomed by Colonel J M A Jayasekera RSP USP - Deputy Centre Commandant upon arrival at the entrance and he was greeted with a guard turnout followed by paid his tribute to the fallen War Heroes’ Monument along with military ceremonials. Thereafter, Colonel of the Regiment was accompanied by Brigadier L S Balachandra RSP – Chief Executive Officer, Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksha Theatre and Brigadier W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP - Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment in order to present the guard of honour.
In parallel to the Regimental Anniversary Day, the Colonel of the Regiment was invited to the foundation stone laying for the new main gate of the Regiment.
