All Regular Battalions are operationally under command to the Mechanized Infantry Brigade. Headquarters of Mechanized Infantry Brigade and 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment are deployed in Jaffna theatre. 2nd Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment and Mechanized Infantry Training Centre are deployed in Wanni theatre. The Battalion Headquarters of 3rd and 4th Mechanized Infantry Regiments are deployed at Welikanda and Maberiyatenna area respectively. Their Companies are deployed covering all over the Country. 5th (Volunteer) Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment is deployed in Kilinochchi theatre.
