ASSUMED DUTIES BY NEWLY APPOINTED COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT, MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT

Major General S S Waduge RWP RSP USP ndu psc - Adjutant General, Army Headquarters assumed duties as the 11^th Colonel of the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry Regiment on 04 November 2020 at the Regimental Centre, Mechanized Infantry Regiment.

In light of the above, the formal military ceremony in the Regimental Centre was commenced soon after the Guard Turnout at the entrance.

The newly appointed Colonel of the Regiment was received by Brigadier L S Balachandra RSP – Chief Executive Officer of Nelum Pokuna Theatre along with Brigadier S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP - Commander, Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP - Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment.

Thereafter, paid his tribute to the fallen war heroes at the war heroes monument followed by attended the Guard of Honour.

Aftermath, Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by the all Senior Officers of the Regimet upon arrival to the Regimental Headquarters premises. Afterwards, blessed with religious observances for assume new office as the 11th Colonel of the Regiment, Mechanized Infantry Regiment. Apart from that he was addressed the Senior Officers of the Regiment. According to the day’s proceedings he was attended for the planting of a sapling, troops address, all ranks tea and lunch hosted by the Regiment at the Officers’ Mess.
