COMMENCING THE CARVING OF BUDDHA STATUE AT THE REGIMENTAL CENTRE

The carving for the new Buddha statue was commenced at the newly constructing temple premises of the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre with religious observances on 07 January 2020.

At a height of 8 feet Buddha statue depicts the figure of "Smadhi Mudra"

A well reputed family of business fields, Mrs. Chandra Mayadunna and Mr. Asitha Udaya Mayadunna on behalf of Late Mr. Noyel Mayadunna in Malambe are the monetary contributors for the carving of Buddha Statue.

Brigadier S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP - Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment admired this supreme task and offered the gratitude to the family of late Mr. Mayadunna. Lieutenant Colonel K K S Perakum RWP RSP - Deputy Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Staff Officers and Other Ranks were participated in the event. Further, donor family was also present at the occasion.
