'Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak' project was inaugurated on 23 December 2019 by planting 'Araliya' saplings along the Army Headquarters entrance route.
The Commander of the Army planted the first 'Araliya' sapling together with Senior Officers, Colonels of the Regiments and a representative gathering of All Ranks of all Regiments.
In parallel with the programme, Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Major General A M S B Atapattu planted 'Araliya' saplings in specific areas allocated for the Mechanized Infantry Regiment along Army Headquarters entrance route. The Deputy Centre Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel K K S Perakum RWP RSP also participated for the event.
