Felicitation Ceremony of Major General A M S B Atapattu, Director Media - Army Headquarters, Director/Spokesman - Media Centre, MOD and Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry Regiment was held at the Regimental Centre Mechanized Infantry, Dambuluhalmillawewa on 04 September 2019.
On arrival of the Colonel of the Regiment, he was warmly received by Brigadier A G D N Jayasundera RWP RSP - Director Human Rights & Humanitarian Law, Army Headquarters, Brigadier H M S Herath - Project Officer 11 Division, Brigadier L S Balachandra RSP - Commander, Mechanized Infantry Brigade and Colonel S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP - Centre Commandant along with other Senior Officers.
He is the first produced Major General of the Regiment and due to his felicitation, ceremonial events were took place. In light of the above Guard Turnout was presented and followed by attended the Wreath Laying Ceremony at War Heroes Monument in the Regiment.
Thereafter, Colonel of the Regiment was presented a Ceremonial Parade by all the battalions including a Mechanized Infantry Armoured Vehicle Column and followed by Planting of Sapling, Group Photograph, All Ranks Tea and All Ranks Lunch.
Accordingly, after his felicitation the 30th Regimental Council Meeting was held by marking the event success. Finally he was participated in the dinner organized by the all Officers of the Regiment.
