MAJOR GENERAL M K D PERERA RWP RSP USP ndu ASSUMED DUTIES AS COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT

Major General M K D Perera RWP RSP USP ndu assumed office as the 8th Colonel of the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry Regiment on 27 March 2018. The Colonel of the Regiment honoured with a formal Guard Turnout at the main entrance of the Regimental Centre. At the auspicious time, Colonel of the Regiment placed his signature for a formal document to signify the acceptance of duties and responsibilities of the appointment in the presence of Centre Commandant, Brigade Commander, other senior officers, all Commanding Officers and staff of the Regimental Centre after a brief religious observances and lighting of the traditional oil lamp.

A Ceremonial Military parade was presented in honour of Colonel of the Regiment at the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre parade ground by Mechanized Infantry troops comprises with Infantry Carrying Vehicles (ICVs) and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs). After the Ceremonial parade Colonel of the Regiment visited camp area and inspect the ongoing constructions. Concluding the days programme he addressed all officers at the Officers’ Mess where he stressed the importance of unity and harmony of all members towards development of the regiment. Senior officers, officers and Other Ranks of the regiment were presented to greet the Colonel of the Regiment.
