OFFICERS' TRAINING DAY 2017- I

The Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre conducted its first Officers\' Training Day session for the year 2017 at the Regimental Centre Dambuluhalmillawewa on 9 May 2017. The Colonel of the Regiment, Senior Officers/Officers including the officers on ERE (Approx. 70 Officers) were participated for the Training Day programme. The Colonel of the Regiment addressed all the officers and stressed the important of conducting an Officers\' Training Day in the Regiment during his opening remarks.

The Training Day's proceedings were commenced with the Physical Training. A qualified Drill Instructor from SLMA conducted a Drill session for junior officers. The Book Review on \'Battle of Waterloo\' written by Gregory Fremont Barnes, conducted by Lieutenant YYK Meepagala - 1 Mech Inf. Adding more glamour to the day\'s event Lt Col SD Udayasena RSP SLLI from Research Analysis and Projection Branch conducted a lecture on \'\'Proposed project - Video stitching to create situational awareness for the troops exiting an APC/ICV from the rear\'\'. A group presentation on \'\' Analysing of present situation in Central Africa and the challenges faced by MINUSC\'\' was conducted by the CO and the officers of 3 Mech Inf.

Culminating the Training Day\'s proceeding a \'\'Dinners\' Club Session\" was held at the Regimental Officers\' Mess on \'\'War strategies, its business relevance and creative prospective of Buddhist wisdom on strategic thinking\'\' by Mr. Manoj Akmeemana.(Deputy General Manger - Branch Banking, Sampath Bank PLC).
