Newly constructed house of late Lance Corporal Kahandawala S A who passed away due to a vehicle accident on 02 August 2016, officially handed over to his family on 13 August 2020. The house construction completed with the financial support extended by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit and Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch together with man power provided by the 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment.
The event was graced by Major General A G D N Jayasundera RWP RSP Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry Regiment with Mrs. Manori Jayasundera President, Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch.
During the visit another welfare project also inspected. Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch extended funds to uplift the living condition of the serving soldiers. Accordingly, Cpl Kongahawattha K W S - 2 MIR was given financial support to complete the Bath Room which he much needed for his illness daughter and family.
Brigadier W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP - Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Senior Council members, Senior Members of Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, Commanding Officers were participated in the event.
