The refurbished house of late Sergeant Wijekumara S S of Mechanized Infantry Regiment who died in UN mission-Mali, officially handed over to his family members on 20 April 2019 during the simple ceremony. The event was graced by the Colonel of the Regiment, Brigadier A M S B Atapattu, the Centre Commandant, Colonel S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP and Regimental Staff Officers.
The project was carried out with the financial support given by the Army Headquarters and the Mechanized Infantry Regiment together with man power.
As pledged by the Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment, the construction work was completed before the three months Almsgiving of late Sergeant Wijekumara S S.
