As directed by Major General Deepal Pussella the Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry, the Commander Security Forces (West) and close supervision of the Commandant - Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre Brigadier AMA Abesinghe RWP RSP USP psc, a Poson Dansala (Manioc) and Poson Bathi-Gee Saraniya have been successfully organized by the Regimental Centre Mechanized Infantry celebrating the Poson Poya Day.
This programme was held at the school playground of A/ Dambuluhalmillawewa Adarsha Vidyala, Dambulla on 04 June 2023. Initially, the Dansala was inaugurated by Mrs. Himali Pussella the Chairperson - Seva Vanitha Branch of Mechanized Infantry. More than 650 kgs of Manioc have been donated during the Dansala. Bathi-Gee Saraniya was started after lighting the Traditional Oil Lamp by all the distinguish invitees of the event. 189 students and 15 teachers of the A/ Dambuluhalmillawewa Adarsha Vidyala, Dambulla and 21 members of Mechanized Infantry have participated the event by singing. Further, Regimental Musical Band provided the music for the Bathi-Gee Saraniya. Furthermore, Major General Deepal Pussella, the Commander Security Forces (West) and the Colonel of the Regiment - Mechanized Infantry graced the ceremony as the chief guest and Major General Udaya Herath, the General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, the Commandant - Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre and senior officers/ officers and senior members/ members of Seva Vanitha Branch Mechanized Infantry have participated the Poson Poya-day Programme.
