OPENING OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOUSE FOR A MILITARY FAMILY

Under the concept of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Army Headquarters and the Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Major General C D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, for constructing five houses for five soldiers for each Mechanized Infantry Battalions, the second newly constructed house in Kosgoda, Ambalangoda for Cpl Silva NSL (S/827115) 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment ceremonially declared open by Mrs Danusha Weerasuriya President of the Mechanized Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch on 02 October 2022.

For the construction of the house locally founded materials were heavily used while financial assistance was provided by Mechanized Infantry Regimental Seva Vanitha branch and 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry.

For this occasion Centre Commandant, Brigadier A M A Abeysinghe RWP RSP USP psc, Mrs Swarnamali Ekanayaka, Secretary - Mechanized Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch, Members of the Executive Committee - Mechanized Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch, Commanding Officer 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Lt Col ACR Thilakarathne along with other Senior Officers/Staff Officers were participated.
