OPENING CEREMONY OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED BATTALION HEADQUARTERS OFFICE COMPLEX OF 2ND BATTALION MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT

Opening Ceremony of newly constructed Battalion Headquarters Office Complex of 2^nd Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment was held on 28 July 2020 at Periyakkattu. Major General A G D N Jayasundera RWP RSP - GOC, 23 Division/ Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry Regiment was graced the occasion as the Chief Guest with the invitation of Lieutenant Colonel P I Punchihewa MIR - Commanding Officer.It was a long awaited and much needed requirement for the battalion to ensure fully fledged Office Complex from the day of its inception.

Afterwards, Colonel of the Regiment was invited for planting of sapling and concluded the event keeping creditable remarks on the Visitors’ Book.

Further, Brigadier H M U Herath RWP RSP USP psc - Commander, 544 Brigade, Brigadier S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP - Commander, Mechanized Infantry Brigade,Brigadier W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP - Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment and Brigadier K W S Perera RWP - Commander, 542 Brigade were presence at the occasion.
