OFFICIAL VISIT BY THE COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT

Brigadier AMSB Atapattu - the Colonel of the Regiment, Mechanized Infantry Regiment paid his first official visit to 3rd Battalion the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (3 MIR) and 4th Battalion the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (4 MIR) on 12th and 13th July 2019.

On 12th the Colonel of the Regiment arrived to the 3rd Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment and was warmly welcomed by the Lieutenant Colonel D M M Dissanayaka RWP MIR, Commanding Officer and customary a formal Guard Turnout presented to the visiting Colonel of the Regiment.

The Centre Commandant Colonel S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP with Regimental Staff Officers accompanied the Colonel of the Regiment. Thereafter, Commanding Officer conducted the formal briefing followed by Troop Address, Planting of a Sapling, Group Photograph and All Ranks Tea. During the visit Colonel of the Regiment was invited to declare open the newly-constructed WOs' & Sgts’ Mess Bar, Bakery and Tank Yard respectively. During the latter part of the visit Colonel of the Regiment was invited for the lunch hosted by the Commanding Officer and terminated the visit keeping remarks on the Visitors' Book.

Following day Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by the Major W G M R Mahawidana RSP MIR, Commanding Officer to 4th Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment. Accordingly, marking the arrival of the Colonel of the Regiment a Guard Turnout presented at the main entrance. Thereafter, Group Photograph was arranged and followed by a formal Briefing, Troop Address, Planting of a Sapling, Visit Camp premises while highlighting the itinerary of the visit. Afterwards, the Colonel of the Regiment was invited for the lunch and concluded the official visit by leaving his remarks on the Visitors' Book.
