OFFICERS' TRAINING DAY 2025 (II)

The Officers’ Training Day 2025 (II), organized by the Mechanized Infantry Regiment, was successfully held on04 July 2025 at the Regimental Centre, with the participation of the Colonel of the Regiment, Senior Officers and Officers.

The day’s proceedings commenced with morning physical training for all Officers, followed by foot drill and sword drill sessions for Officers of the rank of Major and below.

Officers of the 4 MIR, led by the Second in Command, delivered a thought provoking presentation on “The Future of Mechanized Infantry in the Sri Lanka Army: Balancing Operational Readiness with Economic Constraints." This was followed by an interactive public speaking session aimed at enhancing the communication proficiency of Officers.

The day concluded with a Dinners’ Club event held at the Dehippawa Officers’ Mess. On the invitation of the Colonel of the Regiment, Maj Gen AHAD Ariyasena RWP RSP USP psc ptsc, the renowned lecturer Dr. Sanath de Silva, Head of the Department, Faculty of Strategic Studies, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, graced the occasion as the Guest Speaker and delivered an eloquent and insightful address on "The Nuclear Dimension of the Iran–Israel Conflict," enriching the knowledge of all attendees.
