NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOUSE FOR FAMILY MEMBERS OF LATE MECHANIZED SOLDIER

The concept initiated by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army to build houses for the deceased and differently abled soldiers, a newly constructed house under the “Housing Project Phase V” was ceremonially vested to the family members of Late Private Priyantha SK (3 MIR) in Beliaththa area by the Colonel of the Regiment MIR Major General S S Waduge RWP RSP USP ndu psc on 07 February 2021.

Financial contribution for the Project was provided by the Directorate of Veterans Affairs and Regimental Centre MIR. The house was constructed with the untiring commitment of 3 MIR troops under close supervision of the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel R M H B Rathnayake RSP USP psc with the direction of the Centre Commandant, Brigadier W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP.

Family members of the beneficiary and some residents of the area were present at the ceremony.
